Dinosaur Walks in and Gets Clobbered by Boobs consists of a short film that is being played on a TV at the end of a tunnel like structure built from scrap wood.

The installation deals with the evolution of fantasy. Specifically, the piece is about the shift from an innocent boyish world of knights and dinosaurs to the equally engaging world of adult sexuality. Personally, this shift was in the works at the age of 7 and developed into a full-blown transformation at the age of 10 when I discovered pornography. Dinosaur Walks in and Get’s Clobbered by Boobs, with its matter-of-fact and humorous approach, is intended to illustrate this abrupt change.

The Film itself oversimplifies this transition into sexuality for the sake of amplifying this sense of abruptness. Done in stop motion, it depicts a cardboard dinosaur stomping around an interior space in which colonies of boobs are living and thriving on the ceiling. The breasts themselves move around and are accompanied by a rather disturbing slurping sound. As the film progresses, the movement and slurping of the colonies steadily increases until the breasts finally fall from the ceiling, killing the dinosaur.

The tunnel-like structure that houses the film provides the viewer with a passageway into this turning point in my history. Built entirely of scrap wood, the sculpture itself is intended to resemble something one would make in their adolescence. Small pieces of wood have been fit together slowly to create this large tunnel, referencing a time in life when one is obsessed with the process of building without the added burden of having a final and complete product in mind. The inside of the structure consists of a checkered floor that increases the sense of perspective and the walls are lined with two distinct sets of imagery. In the rear closer to the TV, the walls are covered with reproductions of drawings I did as a child. In the front and in clear view, the walls are covered with reproduced images found from Playboy magazines. The floor is scattered with piles of pornographic imagery and the ceiling contains areas infested with clay breasts.
